What is a Dental Appliance?

Maintaining good oral health is more than just brushing and flossing. For those of us who play sports, who clench or grind our teeth or who snore, dental appliances can help preserve and protect our oral structures, and the health of our whole bodies.

Dental appliances offered at Clinique Dentaire France Gascon – such as mouth guards and sleep apnea devices – are used to help protect your oral and overall health.

Snoring & Sleep Apnea Appliances

Sleep disorders can disrupt your rest and negatively impact your overall health and well-being.

For patients who snore, relaxed throat tissues cause the airway to narrow, creating the sound of snoring as air is forced through.

For patients with sleep apnea, over-relaxed throat tissues obstruct the airway, causing the brain to wake them to resume breathing.

At Clinique Dentaire France Gascon, we provide custom-fitted oral appliances that reposition the lower jaw and tongue muscles to open the airway.

This helps improve airflow and prevents frequent awakenings during the night.

Custom-Fitted Mouth Guards

We offer custom-made mouth guards that fit over your teeth to protect them from damage.

Sports Guards

When you play sports or participate in an activity where there is a risk of contact with the face, your teeth are at risk of being broken or damaged. A sports mouthguard can help protect your teeth and gums while you enjoy the benefits of physical activity.

Night Guards

If you grind your teeth during sleep, a mouth guard will help protect your teeth from damage. If you clench your jaw, a mouth guard will also help prevent you from clenching and provide some pain relief.
